Arno Raunig verlieh der Hexe von Endor stählernd-schillernde Weisungskraft, als Gegenpol zu Markus Brutscher, der mit großer stimmlicher Klarheit die religiös-moralische Autorität und das gütige Harmoniestreben des Hohepriesters verkörperte. Die Vielzahl der charakterlichen Facetten wurde vom Chor flexibel aufgenommen und in seinen dramaturgischen Part als Sprachrohr des Volkes und als kommentierende moralische Instanz integriert.

(Eng) Arno Raunig gave the Witch of Endor a steely, dazzling power of command, as a counterpoint to Markus Brutscher, who embodied the religious-moral authority and the benevolent striving for harmony of the high priest with great vocal clarity. The multitude of character facets were flexibly taken up by the choir and integrated into its dramaturgical part as the mouthpiece of the people and as a commenting moral authority.
